Mandatory Inspection of Personal Mobility Devices (E-Scooters)
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has introduced the mandatory inspection requirement for e-scooters. The inspection requires validation of the device to conform to criteria such as the maximum weight of 20 kg, maximum width of 70 cm, maximum capped speed of 25km/h and also certified to UL 2272 safety standard.
User of e-scooter will receive a notice of inspection from LTA. Upon receipt of the letter, user is required to book an appointment with us to schedule an inspection of the e-scooter through this link : www.vicom.com.sg/vpmd
The following conditions are required when you present your device for the inspection :
- Please ensure your device's battery is at least 75% charged.
- There is no charging facility at the inspection centre.
- Configure your device to its maximum speed setting (if any).
- Remove any non original accessories (if any).
